Make your own Cutters

RouterSim comes with 68 pre-made cutters. However, they may not exactly match your own range cutters. Each manufacturer has a slightly different profile and range. To overcome this the cutters are actually loaded from bitmap images to allow you to add your own. Here's an example:

Here are the important features.

  • It must be a .BMP file, stored in the Tools directory of the RouterSim Install.
  • The scale is 100 pixels to an inch.
  • The background must be pure white ( R=255, G=255, B=255).
  • The Cutter must be pure black ( R=0, G=0, B=0).
  • The bearing must be a single line above the cutter of pure red (R=255, G=0, B=0)
  • There must be some white above and to the right of the profile.
  • The name you assign to the bitmap is the name used within RouterSim. Due to file name limitations within windows it is not possible to use some important characters. Below are a list of character replacements to use. These will be replaced when the name is displayed in RouterSim.
